Mandatory Meeting to Receive Marching Orders,
Gaelic League, 2068 Michigan Ave, Detroit, MI at
6:30 pm. A representative from each group
marching must attend to receive Marching Orders and
Painting of the Shamrocks, 11:00 am.
Meet at Gaelic League, 2068 Michigan Ave., Detroit
and proceed to Irish Plaza, Michigan Ave. & 6th St.
Press Party including United Irish Societies
Officers, Grand Marshals, Queen of the Detroit UIS,
Court of St. Brigid paint traditional shamrocks on
12th Annual St. Patrick/St. Joseph Party, The
American Polish Century Club, 33204 Maple Lane,
Sterling Heights, 6:00 pm. $25.00 per person.
Parade Day Mass,
9:00 am. Most Holy Trinity Church, 1050
Porter St, Detroit. Members of the Irish Community
attend pre-parade Mass. Luncheon after Mass
at at Most Holy Trinity School, 1229 LaBrosse
(enter at Sixth Street door), catered by the St.
Patrick Senior Center.
Menu: Corned Beef Sandwiches, Deli Salads, Ice
Cream, Coffee, Tea, and Juices, Suggested
Donation: Individual $8.00, Family $30.00. All
proceeds from the luncheon will benefit St. Patrick
Annual Detroit St. Patrick’s Parade,
12:30 pm. Parade
on 6th Street and Michigan Ave. Starting
promptly at 12:30 pm. The Parade, which includes
marching and pipe & drum bands, color guard units,
floats, clowns, novelty groups and marching units,
moves west on Michigan Ave., passes the reviewing
stand and disperses at 14th Street, approximately 2
daylight savings time! Spring forward an hour.
